Coding for benign and malignant urological tumors has recently changed, along with surgical techniques and approaches. Coupled with the new CPT and ICD-10 codes, coding for tumor therapy has become even more complex – leading to higher chances of incorrect coding, noncompliance, increased payment denials, and loss of revenue. Urologists and coders need to understand and prepare for these changes before it’s too late.
In this audio conference, urology specialist Michael A. Ferragamo will deal extensively with these complex changes and problems, and offer corrective measures to help you remain compliant. He will review the full scope of urological tumor treatment, and walk you through the ICD-10 diagnostic and treatment codes for kidney, bladder, ureter, and genitalia tumors – both malignant and benign. You will learn how to code for open surgeries, endoscopic, and laparoscopic/robotic procedures, as well as for treatment of single and multiple bladder tumors.
Ferragamo will teach you how to code for radical and simple nephrectomy, and tell you what distinguishes one from the other. He will discuss the new coding for needle biopsy of the prostate with ultrasound and MRI (fusion biopsy), teach you how to code properly for pelvic techniques (simple and extended), and also show you how to code a procedure when there is no specific CPT code, especially robotic procedures without specific codes.
After attending this session, you will be able to significantly improve your coding, compliance, and reimbursements. You may not find anything more comprehensive than this conference, so be sure to attend!
