Over the last few years pediatric urology has increased and old and new CPT® codes have evolved. This has put increased pressure on coders and billers to provide accurate coding and billing for these services. A completely updated new ICD-10 code set has also complicated the coding process even more.
In this session, reimbursement and coding consultant Michael A. Ferragamo, Jr., MD, FACS, will review proper coding for most pediatric urological services and procedures and will provide coding of clinical scenarios, both common and uncommon, to enhance the understanding and knowledge necessary for proper coding for each clinical situation.
Dr. Ferragamo will present many clinical examples of new ICD-10 diagnostic codes that are compatible with particular CPT® codes and indicate medical necessity—leading to correct coding and the avoidance of denials.
