The biggest change in U.S. healthcare history is finally here! This change in diagnostic coding will require various improvements and changes by practice providers, mostly in clinical documentation. If there is no improvement in the documentation, it will not be possible for the coding and billing departments to code such services, or rely on unspecified codes either. Payers have clearly said that they will deny services if there is a regular use of unspecified codes. Practices do not need to give third party payers another reason to deny claims and delay payment to practices.
