Expert Guidance on 2015 Coding and Documentation Changes for Spinal Surgical Procedures

You must be aware of the current changes in CPT® code and NCCI guidelines relating to spinal procedures. There is more bundling of imaging guidance taking place both in CPT® and for Medicare patients in 2015. Also, Chapter 4 of the NCCI guidelines cover more issues of when you can use modifier 59 for a spinal decompression with a fusion and when you can’t use. Further, CCI has given their opinion as to when can you report re-exploration of a fusion along with re-fusion codes.

Get updated on Spinal Coding for 2015 with expert Margie Scalley Vaught in this information-packed session and understand the coding and documentation changes for spinal surgical procedures. Learn how and when to use modifier 59 appropriately in spinal surgical procedures. Margie will also provide insights regarding understanding your given payer/carrier contracts to make sure you follow them if different from Medicare policies.

Plus, she will discuss when you should use the re-insertion code 22849 and when you should not, and other such important issues.
