With everyone preparing for the October 1, 2015 implementation of ICD-10, there are all kinds of seminars and conferences on how to code ICD-10, but this session will combine both CPT® and ICD-10 coding for common orthopedic services and procedures. This will ensure that providers receive all they deserve for the services they provide.
You will see how CPT® coding will be affected by ICD-10, and what ICD-10 codes need to be reported for orthopedic services and procedures. Orthopedic coding expert Lynn Anderanin, CPC, CPC-I, COSC, will look at real medical records and extract what is needed for assigning the ICD-10 code to the highest level of specificity.
This session will benefit both experienced orthopedic coders trying to get their arms around ICD-10 and its application, as well as those who are new to orthopedic coding and want to understand the CPT® coding for orthopedic procedures. Lynn will also look at real cases to identify gaps in documentation for ICD-10, and apply coding policies and guidelines to assign the appropriate CPT® codes and justify medical necessity with the correct ICD-10 coding.
