Product Description

Gear Up for a Total of 126 Code Changes—Deadline is Oct. 1, 2018

The preliminary 2019 ICD-10-CM code list introduces approximately 500 diagnosis code changes—with 126 in orthopedics alone. Time to prepare!

A proactive approach is your best bet to battling future denials. Join orthopedic coding expert Margie S. Vaught to learn how to fine-tune your diagnosis coding for the latest code additions and revisions—and prepare for the October 1, 2018 start date for these codes. Vaught will present guidance to select the correct ICD-10 code every time—including those for stress fractures, pathological fractures, and pending fractures. Vaught will also cover when to use acute vs. chronic, especially with meniscal tears.

What’s new? The preliminary ICD-10 2019 code list specifies code revisions for arthralgia (M26.621) and cervical disc displacement, degeneration, and displacement (M50 range). Added codes include those addressing myalgia (M79 range). Plus: Expect to report one out of four now-more-specific codes from the G71 series for muscular dystrophy.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get a step-by-step walk through the ICD-10 2019 code list. Learn the exact coding conventions for a variety of diagnoses that you regularly see in ortho offices, including a wide array of injuries and fractures. Plus, gain proven techniques tips to avoid throwing up your hands and coding “unspecified”!
