Product Description

Get a Practical Understanding of Coding and Documentation for Hand/Wrist Surgical Procedures

Coding for hand/wrist surgical procedures isn’t a clear-cut exercise. And finger surgical procedures are even more complex, given the tendons involved and identifying whether they are flexors or extensors.

During this session, Margie S. Vaught will teach you how to report hand, wrist, and finger procedures—including procedures from basal joint arthroplasties to arthrodesís of the wrist and everything in between.

She’ll also explain what to look for in the operative notes to support the appropriate CPT® and ICD-10 codes, and modifiers.

Session Highlights

  • Specific anatomic location procedures where documentation is going to be the key issue
  • How to bill and report for basal arthroplasties with FCR sling suspension grafting
  • Wrist arthroscopies: What is considered inclusive and what is not?
  • Wrist arthrodesis codes are not the most-user friendly—Take a dive into 25800 vs. 25820
  • Know what AAOS vs. CCI state regarding bundling issues and which one should be referenced
  • What does code 26591 represent?
  • What code to use for distal ulna
