Using the Concept of Medical Decision Making to Maximize Revenue in Eyecare

In general, there are three Medical Decision Making (MDM) tables that include a number of diagnosis and management options, the complexity of data to be reviewed, and a table of risk/level of risk. You need two of these three tables at a certain level. The table of risk includes three components (or tables), including presenting problem, diagnostic procedure and management options. You need only one of the three above to be at a given level (minimal, low, moderate or high). Understanding MDM is essential for anyone reporting E/M encounters and in particular Level IV and V encounters.

This presentation by expert speaker Jeffrey Restuccio, CPC, COC, MBA will provide an in-depth review of the often misunderstood concepts of medical decision making to help you maximize your eyecare revenue. Jeffrey will provide a thorough overview of the concepts, scoring and issues related to properly handling medical decision making.
