According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, Ectopic pregnancies occur in one out of every 50 pregnancies within the United States. When a fertilized egg does not attach within the normal area of the uterus, but attaches in abnormal areas within the internal female genital organs or pelvic cavity, it’s called abnormal pregnancy. Such pregnancy has an extremely low chance of survival, and can cause extreme complications for the mother.
In this webinar, Ob/Gyn coding expert Lori-Lynne A. Webb will provide in depth strategies and the most up to date concepts for understanding ectopic and “incomplete” pregnancy. She will shed light on the clinical physiology of the process, along with the ins and outs of the coding and billing, to be successful in your claim submissions. Your office can have the confidence to correctly document and receive all the reimbursement you're entitled to for provided services, and have essential clarity of all documentation and understanding of what is needed for billing, coding, and auditing for a pregnancy that has an “early” completion.
Lori-Lynne will talk about the current know-how, and the important ACOG, and SMFM documentation tips for medical necessity documentation. Share knowledge on the anatomy and physiology of ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous/missed abortive processes and early delivery. Also, she will review what an “unbundled” pregnancy package entails and what criteria need to be present prior to sending in claims.
