Key Strategies and Coding Concepts Necessary for Correct Billing of Gynecologic Services

Over the years, insurance carriers have changed their "scope" in the review of clinical documentation for medical necessity and pre-authorization, and may or may not follow ICD-10-CM, CPT, or even correct coding guidelines put forth by CMS.

In this session, coding specialist Lori-Lynne A. Webb, CPC, CCS-P, CCP, CHDA, CDIP, COBGC, AHIMA approved ICD-10cm/pcs trainer will provide you in-depth strategies and the most up-to-date concepts and information on the usage of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes and clinical documentation, targeted specifically for gynecologic services. Lori-Lynne will look at correct office and surgical coding within the gyn clinical practice.

The session will serve to educate your physicians and staff regarding the correct documentation for clear, concise and correct usage of the CPT procedures, CPT E&M, ICD-10 diagnosing, and clinical documentation – often confusing for coders, billers and even clinical staff in the office, and surgical gynecologic practice. This session will provide key strategies and coding concepts necessary for correct billing. Your clinical and office staff will be able to implement some of these terrific tips and hints to improve your practice’s financial bottom line.

With this session, you will gain an understanding of the relationship of ICD-10-CM within the gynecologic practice of an ob/gyn office. A good understanding of ICD-10-CM coding is vital to a practice, which makes this session a "not to be missed" learning event for all. If you are a physician, mid-level provider or a beginning coder, this is your opportunity to get experienced, tried and true information. This session is a great refresher for the experienced coder to hear and learn new ideas, in addition to gaining an understanding of the importance of clinical documentation for a gynecologic practice.
