Learn What It Takes to Create a Resident-Centered, Survey-Ready Culture

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the Reform of Requirements for LTC (Long Term Care) facilities in 2016. Its Phase 2 is in effect since Nov. 28, 2017, and Phase 3 will kick in from 2019. An entirely new survey process also came into being from Nov. 28, 2017, which the CMS uses to determine the eligibility of LTCs such as nursing homes to accept and care for Medicare and Medicaid patients. It is imperative for all LTCs to be thoroughly conversant with the survey, which is still considered 'new' by most in the healthcare industry.

Get a complete overview of CMS’ new survey process in this informative audio conference with expert Carmen Bowman—a former surveyor and now “regulator turned educator". Bowman will share tips for managing the survey, and walk you through the survey tasks that the surveyors will be conducting. She will briefly review some of the 41 Critical Element Pathways surveyors use during survey regarding sample residents. She will also show you how to access survey resources that have now been made public, and how to use the same tools surveyors use.

After attending this session, you will know how to create a proactive, resident-centered, survey-ready culture. You will not be dependent upon others to tell you what is happening during a survey. This session will properly acquaint you with the new survey process, survey resources, and tips to manage the survey, thereby making you stronger in your daily work especially when the surveyors show up.
