Millions of patients get diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States. In 2017, Alzheimer’s care cost the United States $259 billion. About 60,000 people are diagnosed every year with Parkinson’s disease. The figures are overwhelming.

In this session, coding professional Gloryanne Bryant will provide a review of the disease process, clinical aspects, and associated complications of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The session will include information statistics and the impact of these two diseases.

Bryant will talk you through the Alzheimer’s coding in ICD-10-CM guidelines and rules. She will also help you understand the Parkinson’s coding in ICD-10-CM guidelines and rules and will explore coding case scenarios to help you improve your coding accuracy and skills. You will learn to apply official guidelines for coding and reporting of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

You will learn the clinical information about the two diseases, the prevalence and treatments. Bryant will discuss the ICD-10-CM official coding and reporting guidelines for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
