Gear Up for Nearly 500 Code Changes!

As you know, you have until October 1, 2018 to get acquainted with the 2019 ICD-10 clinical modification (CM) codes —or face future denials. But you don’t have to go it alone.

Join medical coding expert Jill Young in this in-depth training webinar to find out what has changed for 2019—and which of these changes will most affect your practice. You’ll also gain insight and information into why many codes were created or revised and how the requestor feels these new codes will be used.

Learn how to best adjust your coding & billing practices for 2019 to prepare for smooth-sailing claims and reimbursement efforts, no matter your specialty. By upgrading your ICD-10 coding skills—both with familiar codes and updated ones—you’ll  upgrade your clinical documentation improvement (CDI) efforts and your success with MIPS reimbursement.

What’s new?  As typical, many of the added codes for 2019 address nuances of disorders—from squamous cell carcinoma skin and acute appendicitis to ecstasy poisoning and fractures of the fingers. There are added Merkel cell codes and codes addressing cannabis use and Zika virus. The codes for lipoprotein and lipedema are changing. And muscular dystrophy has a new, much more specific code set (G71). Plus, there are two new code sets addressing (T74 and T76) encounters of sexual and forced labor exploitation among both adults and children.

It’s imperative that you sharpen your (and your physicians’) understanding of what the documentation must say to support each, changed code. Don’t miss your chance to spend an hour gaining knowledge that will pay off all year long. Be proactive: Reduce your denials risk, ease your documentation headaches, and get ready to maximize reimbursement.
