The Final Rule for the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for 2017 established four new Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) codes. Three of these codes fall under the Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model (CoCM). These new codes apply to care management and allow for payment of services provided by many primary care physicians.
Until this year, primary care physicians haven’t been able to bill Medicare for BHI services but the rules have changed and reimbursement for these separately reportable codes opens the door to more primary care physicians offering care management services for eligible beneficiaries.
If this is a service your practice has considered providing but couldn’t because of no reimbursement for the coordination efforts, join Jill M. Young, CPC, CEDC, CIMC, in this informative webinar. Learn about the BHI codes involved and get the insights that will help you change your mind about providing these reimbursed services in 2017.
