Product Description

You can earn up to $44,000 extra from Medicare or even more if you elect to participate with Medicaid.

With the signing of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, we are now going into accelerated mode towards the adoption of electronic health records.  And to help you on your way Medicare and some Medicaid programs will pay you to make the switch.

But know this; if you are not a Medicare meaningful user of a certified EHR by 2014 you will be hit with a 1% reduction in your Medicare payments every following year from 2015 to 2017—and, potentially, after that. The penalty reduction may increase to 2%, annually, if less than 75% of US physicians adopt an HER by 2015.

Join Melanie Witt for this 1 hour session to learn how easy it is to register and participate in the Medicare and/or Medicaid incentive programs.  You’ll find out what is required when using a certified electronic record, and what additional quality measures you will have to perform to show meaningful use.  And, if you are eligible, you stand to earn your bonus in just 90 days from your first date of participation in 2011.

If you are currently using or plan to use an electronic record system, this session is for you.

As a bonus, you will receive a table that outlines the bonus payment system for each year of participation for each stage of the Medicare implementation plan.

Take a look at what’s covered:

  • Medicare or Medicaid? Learn the pros and cons of each program so you can select the one that best meets your needs
  • Learn the step-by-step process of first registering to participate and then attesting to your participation.  Some of the work means simply answering yes or no to a set of questions.
  • Not using an EHR yet?  Not to worry, Medicare allows registration before you have one, and Medicaid pays when you are planning to adopt one without showing meaningful use in the first year.  Understanding the criteria will simplify the process.
  • Physicians must also report core and additional quality measures.  See what your options are to streamline EHR reporting for your ob/gyn patient.
  • Medicare has spent a lot of time in preparing resource information to help make this program a success.  Find out where to go for the latest information to make the learning process in meeting the criteria stress free.
  • Not convinced using an EHR is your cup of tea?  Understand the benefits and why commercial insurers are starting to look closely at the Medicare program.

Who should attend? Coders, billers, practice managers, physicians, non-physician practitioners
