What Coders Must Know About the Changes in ICD-10-PCS Coding for 2018

Properly coding in the inpatient setting is crucial because specificity of coding is required for correct DRG reimbursement for inpatient procedures. CMS’s 2017 updates to ICD-10-PCS for 2018 were released in May 2017 and include over 3,500 new codes, more than 1,800 revisions and almost 650 deletions. ICD-10-PCS now includes over 78,700 codes. These are the codes that must be used for the “procedural classification system” in hospital inpatient settings starting on October 1, 2017. Is your practice ready to use the new PCS Coding Guidelines?

Join this session, where, AIHC-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer Amy C. Pritchett, BSHA, CCS, CPMA, CPC-I, CPC, CDEO, CANPC, CASCC, CEDC, CRC, CMRS, CMPM, CDMP, C-AHI, will discuss all aspects of the coding guideline changes, added tables and revised tables.
