The latest version of Medicare's National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) is here. New CCI edits come out every quarter -- so it’s up to you to know how to implement each and every one of them. Ignoring CCI edits can cost your practice or facility hundreds of thousands of dollars. But for once, there's some good news from NCCI. Thanks to Version 14.1, effective April 1, 2008, you can once again report DEXA and absorptiometry codes 77080-77081 and 77083 with brachytherapy codes 77750-77799. But CMS didn't stop with its deletion — as usual, most of the changes in this version of CCI were new edits to the already expansive CCI edit database.
Make sure you know every new CCI edit that affects your coding practice.
