The CMS Reform of Requirements for Long-Term Care Facilities became effective on Nov. 28, 2016. However, in response to comments by AHCA, CMS is implementing the regulations using a phased approach. The second phase (implementation date Nov. 28, 2017) includes the completion of a Facility Assessment. The implementation of this one requirement may impose a financial as well as a staffing burden for skilled nursing facilities. SNF administrators need to understand what is involved and begin collecting information for assessment as soon as possible.
During this informative session, Marilyn Mines will help you prepare for the second phase of the final rule by explaining the requirements and purpose of the Facility Assessment. Additionally, she will offer suggestions and tips on collecting the required information and formatting the results.
