Learn about the Final Rule for FY2018 for the Prospective Payment System (PPS)

The FY2018 final rule for the prospective payment system (PPS) brings together numerous laws and regulations that have been passed in the last few years and finalizes them into one huge requirement. Value based purchasing (VBP) and the quality reporting program (QRP), to name a few, set the stage for the future.  Skilled nursing facility (SNF) providers will be better prepared by knowing what is expected in the next two years.

Join this session with expert speaker Marilyn Mines, RN, BC, RAC-CT, to discuss the importance of understanding the current and future implication of the QRP and VBP initiatives which will have monetary impacts on the nursing home environment. Understanding the withholding and how to potentially earn back Medicare dollars is critically important in the day-to-day operations of the SNF.

This session will help you manage MDS completion and understand its importance. You will be able to educate your staff on the proper and accurate completion of those sections of the MDS that impact QRP and VBP. This session will help you understand the calculation of readmission rates and learn how to oversee and follow-up on discharged residents. You will also be able to develop programs and in-house initiatives to prevent hospital readmissions.
