Product Description

Understand the Nuances of the New ICD 10 Codes Changes for Internal Medicine

Each year hundreds of new codes and revisions are announced to the ICD-10-CM Code set.  Which ones are important to you and your practice and which ones are not is something that you absolutely need to recognize. Knowing what changes affect your practice allows you to verify that software changes in the ICD-10-CM data file have taken place as needed.  Without the updated codes, your claims will reject/edit out and cash flow will be affected. Educating your providers on the new codes is also a part of the new codes for 2020.  They need to understand the specificity and variability to use them correctly.

Join our session with internal medicine coding expert Jill M. Young, CPC, CEDC, CIMC for an in-depth knowledge on 2020 changes to ICD 10 coding and its impact on internal medicine. Know which codes were added and which codes were revised. You will also learn about the possible impacts that ICD 10 changes can have on your practice.

Code changes that an internal medicine office would be using will be covered, in detail where appropriate.  The Logic for why a code or code set was created will be covered as well as an overview of the clinical information needed to understand the code.

Attendees will walk away with confidence in what the 2020 code set for ICD-10-CM holds for their practice and how to explain and work with these codes.

In addition, Jill will discuss where you can find the most recent ICD 10 codes and current guidelines in Internal Medicine. Learn how you can start applying them today, instead of waiting for tomorrow.
