Product Description

Look Into These Changes To Eye Condition Codes In ICD-10—Before Oct. 1 2015 Hits.

Right now, you should report glare sensitivity with catchall code 368.8 (Other specified visual disturbances), but that changes in 2015. Instead, you’ll report H53.7 (Glare sensitivity). Under that code, you should read the note that says “Use an external cause code following the code for the condition, if applicable, to identify the cause of the eye condition.”

Making certain you read and follow guidelines like these is paramount to coding eye conditions in ICD-10. In this expert webinar, brought to you by Dorothy S. Steed, she’ll highlight pivotal conditions with examples of coding scenarios.

Note:
In ICD-9, these conditions were grouped with nervous system codes. However, in ICD-10, you’ll find these eye conditions in its own chapter.

This session will help you:

  • Review the specific code range for eye conditions (H00 – H99)
  • Highlight these certain changes in terminology, including expansions.
  • Find out what new category additions you don’t have in ICD-9-CM
  • Go in-depth with glaucoma and underlying conditions
  • Pinpoint eye disorders in diseases classified elsewhere

Who should attend? Coders, billers, revenue cycle, physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, claims follow-up, managers
