Patient flow processes are vital tools for managing cost and length of stay (LOS). Patient flow, by definition, includes all the processes that impact on a patient as they transition through the health care continuum. This program by expert speaker Toni G. Cesta, Ph.D., RN, FAAN will discuss the role of both RN case managers and social work in patient flow. Included will be a discussion of avoidable delays and how they can be used to reduce length of stay. Effective patient flow processes can result in decreased LOS, decreased readmissions, an increase in patient satisfaction, and improved quality outcomes.
