Agencies face a significant financial risk in not understanding Recertification Narratives. This is a fairly recent addition to Medicare’s policy for home health care agencies. There is a great risk of having multiple episodes denied if the rule isn’t followed exactly as written.
Many providers have never read about or heard about this rule established in the Final Rule for 2015. Agencies not knowing about or understanding this requirement risk losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. And, not to mention this is low hanging fruit for the Federal Government. The cost and effort associated with this could make ‘face to face’ look like a ‘walk in the park’ when medical reviews/audits and, subsequent, denials based on recertification narratives begin.
This session with expert speaker Arlene Maxim will provide you with a clear understanding of recertification narratives for home health agencies. You’ll also get sample narratives and sample forms for you to use as a worksheet for completing such documentation.
