To ensure that your staff is qualified, professional and meets all regulations, is so critical to agencies, and yet management often does not have a formalized competency program in place. You have to have a solid competency program for all of your staff, including subcontractors in order to meet accrediting and Medicare standards. This session by Sharon Litwin will explain what a competency program is, as many managers do not understand what they must do in order to develop and implement the program.
She will also give examples of competency assessments for staff positions, examples from other agencies and review of the regulations.
This session will help attendees to avoid risks from having incidents resulting from poor quality of care and/or from staff not following standards of practice. It will also help to increase outcomes as staff quality increases. It will assist clerical staff as well as clinical staff.
