Product Description

Because there is no chapter in the ICD-9 manual specific to late effect codes, these codes are very often listed inaccurately or not coded at all.

Late effect conditions, by definition, are common diagnoses in home care. They represent the residual effect (condition produced) after the acute phase of the illness or injury has terminated. Specific sequencing guidelines accompany these late effect codes and using them correctly may determine case mix eligibility

Join Tricia A. Twombly for this 1-hour audio event to identify the difference between a late effect code vs. an acute code, when it’s appropriate to use late effect codes and how it might affect reimbursement

Take a look at what’s covered:

  • Discuss late effect vs. acute codes
  • Identify sequencing guidelines specific to late effect codes
  • Identify manifestation exception guideline
  • Discuss CVA late effect exception guideline
  • Discuss interactive scenarios

Who should attend? Home health owners, administrators, directors, clinicians and HCS- D coders.
