At the end of May, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are looking to educate eligible professionals (EPs) about Stage 2 Meaningful Use of the EHR Incentive Programs. In the upcoming national call, the federal agency will provide information of this stage’s requirements, reporting options, and data submission processes for EPs in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program.
The Stage 2 requirements have many new features. They may require modifications to existing systems as well as training to implement new features. Providers need to be aware of the new sets of standards and differences in requirements from Stage 1. There are also fewer categories to choose from in order to meet compliance standards, so providers may now need to test functionality in areas that were not required under Stage 1. Further, while working on Stage 2 compliance, providers may be selected for an ongoing audit program examining Stage 1 achievement.
Wayne, will discuss the new or modified standards that comprise Stage 2 compliance and focus on issues that providers may face in complying with the new requirements. Attention will be focused on new mandatory objectives.
Plus, detailed discussion on how to be complaint against an MU audit.
