In order to accurately assign codes for any surgical procedure, you need to have an operative (OP) report. But simply having an OP report isn’t enough. You also must be able to read the OP report and pick out the important information.
Join this 60 minutes audio conference where our expert speaker & coding veteran Lynn Pegram, CPC, CEMC, CPC-I, CGSC, will use actual operative reports to demonstrate how to pull the vital information that is needed to code properly and accurately. She’ll actually code notes and discuss the rationale while explaining medical terminology and anatomy.
You’ll find the session fun since you’ll learn the accurate coding from an actual report that a General Surgery coder like you would see on a daily basis. You'll learn to code a General Surgery note to the fullest, while maintaining the CCI Edit rules and modifier usage.
