Product Description

Updates to ICD-10-CM, CPT®, HCPCS, and the Proposed OPPS Changes in Gastroenterology Coding in 2017

Gastroenterology coders, billers and physicians must be prepared for major changes to the sedation codes and concepts for endoscopy according to the proposed Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) in 2017. This is in addition to the code changes in the ICD-10-CM and CPT® coding systems. The importance of understanding what your practice performs for sedation with endoscopy codes will affect how you bill for this care in the coming year. Simple straightforward explanations of these concepts will help you work efficiently and effectively.

In this session, expert speaker Jill M. Young, CPC, CEDC, CIMC, will take you through the new codes for gastro practice and the issues that need to be addressed by your practice. She will also share details on when the new codes must be used, what documentation will be needed for conscious sedation billing, selecting time units, and more. HCPCS and CPT® code changes will also be taken up for discussion during the session.
