Vermont passed a GMO labeling bill that was signed into law on May 8, 2014 which says that residents deserve to know what is in their food. The legislation requires products that are produced with genetic engineering that will be sold in the state to bear a label stating the same.

This presentation by expert speaker Peter Whitfield provides an overview of current and potential state and federal legislative initiatives that impose labeling obligations on bioengineered food.
