Each year the AMA and CMS publish changes to CPT® and HCPCS for the New Year. 2015 is no different with CPT® adding two codes, revising two, and deleting one. This will be an expansion of the chronic care management section. The 2015 CMS proposed fee schedule had many new and changing ideas included to affect the way E/M services will be reported. Knowledge of these changes for 2015, as well as the future, are important because of how reimbursement can change based on these new rules.
In this audio conference, coding expert Lynn Anderanin, CPC, CPC-I, COSC will not only review the CPT® and HCPCS changes announced for 2015, but will also include the RVU and fee schedule changes to assist you in understanding how the changes will change the way you report services. Very often changes in coding are perceived to be beneficial, but more often than not, have a negative effect on overall revenue.
Lynn will also review the new behavioral assessment codes added in the medicine section. She will shed light on how to apply the changes to E/M services to your practice to receive the maximum reimbursement for the services to patient. Plus, she will review the 2015 Physicians Fee Schedule from CMS to give you an understanding of what affects these changes will have on your current reimbursements.
