Insights On Dental-Medical Cross Coding In ICD-10

Due to a paradigm shift in dentistry where it is now being better recognized as the field of dental medicine, dental practices are now in a position to help their patients obtain additional benefits from their medical insurance plans for medically necessary dental procedures. This will increase case acceptance and, therefore, profits. Most dental practices have no idea of how to do this.

Dental-medical cross coding is quickly becoming a necessity for dental practices and more and more practices have implemented a cross coding system. The diagnosis code set revision to ICD-10 in 2015 will result in BIG change in cross coding. For those dental practices that are already cross coding, it will be mandatory to use this new code set as of October 1, 2015. Claims will deny from that date on, if ICD-9 codes are being used.  For dental practices that are considering implementing cross coding, training in ICD-10 is a must. For dental practices that are not going to cross code, they will be faced with the new requirement to use diagnosis codes on the dental claim forms.  Therefore, this conference is a must for all dental practices.

Join Marianne Harper in this session to get information on how to implement the revised diagnosis code set, ICD-10. It will take away the difficulty of implementing this new code set. The information will also provide a jump start to dental insurance coding as the most recent ADA claim form requires diagnosis codes. Attending this conference will lay the ground work for both dental and medical coding.
