The transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 will be complex for all parts of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The level of specificity required in ICD 10 should allow providers to describe complex patient conditions in much greater detail.
Coding and billing expert Brenda Chidester-Palmer, CPC, CPC-I, CEMC, CASC will show you how to navigate the ICD-10 CM to correctly assign diagnosis codes, in an informative session. Understand how anatomy and correct documentation will assist in correct coding to ensure timely and correct reimbursement of claims. Brenda will review the chapter specific guidelines as they pertain to ASC diagnosis coding to make sure you code correctly for timely payment.
Additionally, review actual procedure document and learn how to apply ICD-10 diagnosis codes. Also, get coding tips for GI (gastrointestinal), lesion excisions and orthopedic ASC procedures and complications, and know how to select correct codes for initial and subsequent encounters and use of placeholders.
Attendees will also get reference documentation for ICD-10 guidelines that pertain to ASC diagnosis coding.
