Product Description
$3,000 per provider and $14,501 per practice for e-Rx participation.
A report released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) shows a growing trend toward physicians and other eligible professionals participating in the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and the Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program.
In 2009, 119,804 providers in 12,647 practices satisfactorily reported data on quality measures. In 2009, CMS paid over $234 million in PQRS incentive payments - compared to $36 million in 2007 - and $148 million to 48,354 successful e-Prescribers. That works out to about $1,956 per provider and $18,525 per practice for PQRS participation and just over $3,000 per provider and $14,501 per practice for e-Rx participation.
This is good news, but currently, only about one in five health care professionals who can participate in the PQRS do so. Although participation in both programs is optional, providers who are able to participate in these programs but choose not to will receive payment reductions from Medicare in the coming years.
If you are not already participating in both the PQRS and eRx programs you are not only losing additional revenue, but facing possible penalties. And if you are participating, are you current with the changes this year? This session will show you how to easily begin the process and update you on the changes for 2011.
Take a look at what’s covered:
- CMS wants you to succeed: Find out where you can get the latest information on the programs to ensure successful participation
- CMS offers more than one reporting period and data submission method: Find out which may be best for your practice
- Successful reporting means getting it right on the claim form. The claim examples in this presentation will make it easy to understand and implement
- Not all quality measures will be right for the ob/gyn practice. Learn which ones you can quickly adopt for easy reporting every time
- Commercial payers are eyeing CMS progress with PQRS and E-Rx programs. Getting into the habit of reporting quality measures now may enhance your practice’s value to these payers
