Are You Missing the Mark on Documentation and Reimbursement for Anesthesia’s Invasive Monitoring Services?

In today’s environment of decreasing reimbursement, it is even more important to make sure that no money is left on the table.  Billing correctly for invasive monitoring services adds to your practice’s bottom line while remaining compliant.

Get registered with this information packed Webinar where you can gain an understanding of all invasive monitoring procedures, including anatomical illustrations, the purposes for the monitoring, tips for compliant coding, and important information on avoiding compliance pitfalls. Also get a great guiding chart to keep at your side when coding invasive lines.

Judi Blaszczyk, RN, CPC, ACS-PM will help you learn how to use all of the coding resources available to help you with reporting invasive monitoring services.  CPT-4, NCCI, ASA, CMS and ICD-9 are not just alphabet soup.  They all provide valuable information to bring additional revenue to your practice while avoiding any compliance pitfalls.

Highlights of the session:

  • It is crucial that anesthesia coders and billers understand the guidelines for reporting time as it relates to placement of invasive lines.  Compliance demands it!
  • Understand arterial lines, their potential sites, purposes, approaches and correct coding
  • Central venous lines will be reviewed- We will discuss the variety of terms physicians use to document this service, age specific coding, rules for multiple lines, and average reimbursement
  • Billing for Pulmonary Artery catheters require an awareness of anatomy and physiology and bundling rules as well as correct coding.
  • Learn to report coronary sinus catheters correctly when performed. Learn about this valuable monitoring resource.
  • Transesophageal echocardiography coding can present a challenge for coders and billers.  The ASA and AMA do not agree on the bundling rules when this service is provided strictly for monitoring.  Learn the compliant way to determine when TEE is separately reportable as well as the documentation required.
