About the Speaker

Samantha (Mullins) Fowler, CPC, CPC-I, MCS-P, ACS-AN, is a goal and result oriented individual who has educated and trained extensively to remain in the "up and coming". Samantha is equally energetic with intense focus on success and the ability to identify problem areas and develop efficient solutions in her current role as DST Health Solutions' Coding Manager. Her previous role was as Medac's Director of Practice Management and Managed Care for the Southern Region.

Mullins has over 15+ years of healthcare experience. Her experience includes but is not limited to, coding, compliance, billing, practice management and managed care. Her best specialties include anesthesia and emergency medicine, but she is also familiar with E&M as a whole, surgery, and office based services. Mullins sits on the Anesthesia Specialty Advisory Board for the Board of Medical Specialty Coding (BMSC) and has since 2005. She is an active member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the MGMA focus groups. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) holding their Certificate in Professional Coding (CPC), is an approved Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) instructor, served as the Birmingham Chapter 2003 President-elect and the 2004 Chapter President.
