Product Description
Avoid modifier 25 scrutiny when coding for Allergy E/M services.
Billing for skin tests, intradermal, and in vitro allergy testing comes with complications - including allowed limits, combinations, units, and same-day E/M services.
Join coding expert, Jennifer Godreau, BA, CPC, CPEDC, for this 1-hour audio event where she will show you some of the intricacies of dealing with common pitfalls associated with injections including when is a nurse visit allowed and what counts as a 95165 dose.
PLUS: Jennifer will provide you with a flow chart to pin-down the correct allergy testing code based on method, allergen, and when appropriate reaction type; AND scenarios that drill in correct unit counting to avoid under/over-coding.
Here's what you will learn:
- Which of these items can you bill separately:
- Pre allergy tests positive and negative test,
- test interpretation,
- physician report,
- E/M
- Zoom in on what counts as a 95165 dose - Medicare’s calculation is different from CPT’s definition.
- Green light E/M-25 + test when you meet these criteria.
- Get the right units to capture all allowed tests without overbilling – these prick, puncture, stick definitions show you how.
- Adhere to 95004, 95024, 95027, and 86003 limits – or trigger MUE denials.
- Case studies that leave no unit, or service unclaimed without making your practice an audit statistic.
- BONUS: This flowchart pins-down the right allergy testing code: just answer these questions.
Who should attend? Billers, coders and physician who deal with allergy tests and claims.
