Product Description
Did V codes and E Codes always left you puzzled?
Home Health provides subsequent care and because of that, V codes are common primary diagnoses. Many V codes represent aftercare, status, attention to, or the history of a patient’s condition but only certain V codes are eligible to have the numerical case mix code listed in M1024 for payment. Understanding the guidelines that govern V codes is an important tool for home health coders. In addition, E codes are required when a patient has had an adverse event to a drug or chemical, however, E codes can help avert trauma wound down codes and denials and should be used for best practices.
Join expert, Trish Twombly,BSN, RN, HCS-D, HCS-O, COS-C, CHCE where she explains the importance of V and E codes in a Power point presentation with many interactive scenarios explaining the ICD-9 official coding guidelines as it relates to accurately coding V and E codes.
