Product Description

Incident-to or shared services? Your NPP E/M survival guide.

More and more practices are using non-physician practitioners to ease the busy load and increase capacity. But the complexities that come with reporting these physician extender services aren’t always a pretty picture -- and you certainly don’t want the feds to discover major snafus in your billing practices if you can catch them yourself.

Get expert advice on audit skills you can’t live without if you bill for NPP services or are an auditor. Expert speaker Kim Garner Huey, CPC, CCS-P, CHCC, will clear up confusion over billing guidelines for NPPs (physician assistants, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives), and offer advice for reviewing those services for Medicare and private payer compliance. You’ll walk away with the knowledge that it takes to keep your claims clean and the reimbursement flowing!

Here’s a sampling of what you’ll learn:

  • Top 5 compliance risks to watch for.
  • 4 Key documentation elements to look for in incident-to claims.
  • Documentation guidelines for shared visits:  See when you should be looking at incident-to guidelines at the same time.
  • Step-by-step approach to determine the right level of service … and when to combine the physician and NPP’s documentation.
  • When to bill under the physician’s number and when to bill under the NPP’s.
  • An important caveat to “H” in your HEMs.
  • Double dipping? See when you can count info from the HPI in the ROS.
  • Helpful points for providers themselves that’ll smooth out wrinkles in billing.

Have additional questions? You have the floor with the speaker during an interactive Q&A!

Who should attend? Physicians who involve non-physician practitioners in their practices, NPPs themselves, coders, billers, auditors, and office managers.

Your registration includes:
