Make sure that you're up-to-speed with the current MUEs.

The MUE table was most recently updated effective January 1, 2010. You need to be familiar with the MUE limits and rules that apply to procedures and tests you perform to avoid losing legitimate payments and/or delays in claim processing.

Join pathology-coding expert Dennis L. Padget, MBA, CPA, FHFMA for this 60- minute audio seminar and take a look at the most recent MUE limits that affect your practice.

PLUS: When a MUE hinders appropriate reimbursement, Dennis will show you how to handle the situation.

In 60 minutes you'll learn:

  • Coverage policy frequency limit vs. MUE limit - There is a major difference that you need to know.
  • Not all codes are affected by MUEs. Learn which pathology CPT/HCPCS have limits per the most recent table.
  • Get the scoop on which CPT/HCPCS codes that are subject to Medicare coverage policy frequency limit.
  • Which modifiers may be used to bypass an MUE limit when necessary.
  • Appeal MUE limit denials? It is possible.
  • The new unit of service definitions for special stains and immunohistochemistry.

Have additional questions? You have the floor with the speaker during an interactive Q&A.

Who should attend? Pathologists, histology/cytology lab managers, pathology/lab billing managers, pathology/lab coders
