You no longer have a grace period to make these ICD-9 changes.

Every year, you tackle hundreds of ICD-9-CM code changes that impact home health providers, but this year will be different. You can't wait until the last minute anymore -- you have to be ready to use these codes for 2010 correctly by October 1, 2009. Coding expert Judy Adams, RN, BSN, HCS -D, COS-C, will walk you through the new, revised and deleted ICD-9-CM codes for 2010 during this informative 90-minute audio session. You'll learn which codes are most likely to affect home health, along with insights into the reasons behind the changes.

Here's what you will learn:

  • Get up-to-speed on the 142 proposed new ICD-9-CM codes for 2010.
  • Why you'll need to pay special attention to new late effect codes for cerebrovascular disease and codes for venous embolisms.
  • Learn how to use more than a dozen new poisoning codes and 32 new V codes.
  • Which of the new and changed diagnosis codes are likely to be case mix codes -- and how to earn additional payment under Medicare PPS.
  • Get last-minute updates on the changes for 2010 to stay ahead of the game.
  • Find out which codes will be revised and which will be deleted for 2010.
