Proper coding insures proper payment AND keeps the urologist and practice compliant.
There are always questions of how to bill and code for new, unique or unusual services and new technologies when the urologist performs them.
Dr. Ferragamo will provide a step-by-step explanation on how to code, and receive reimbursements, for these services:
- When your urologist uses Botox to treat incontinence or other bladder conditions, you’ll usually turn to unlisted code 53899 – but not always. Find out the exception to the Botox rule
- Unlock gold seed marker reimbursement with the tips
- Stress incontinence and minimally invasive treatment options – that’s where your coding challenges begin. Learn the secrets to capturing payment for the steps taken before surgery.
- Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) is becoming a more common procedure for urologists who treat urinary disorders. Controversy over whether to use 64555 and 95971 or just 64999 makes it hard to know what to do. Get the latest news to ensure your coding keeps up with your urologist’s ventures into this emerging technology.
- If you think 57160 is all you need for pessary insertion procedures, think again. Not only will you have to consult the HCPCS and ICD-9 manuals, you must follow your practice’s policy on whether the patient or you are responsible for the supplies
- With only two codes to choose from when your urologist performs biofeedback training for urinary incontinence – 90901 and 90911 -- you would think capturing reimbursement for the service would be easy. Think again. Without adequate documentation, correct modifiers, and applicable diagnoses, you’ll face denials every time you code biofeedback training.
- PLUS: Proper billing for Testopel pellet injections and Firmagon/Degarelix administration
Have additional questions? You have the floor with the speaker during an interactive Q&A.
Who should attend? Urologists, urogynecologists, coders and billers of these services as well as nurses and medical technicians involved in the performances of these services will receive much help in understanding how and when to bill and code for the services they are providing.
