Your Expert Speakers
Raequell Duran, CPC, has over twenty years of experience in the medical field and is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a former Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). She worked at a multi-specialty clinic, a sub-specialty retina practice, a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice and in the hospital setting prior to beginning her consulting career in 1996. Ms. Duran presented coding courses across the nation for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and in annual meetings for organizations such as the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, the Vitreous Society and has participated in State society presentations for the California Academy of Ophthalmology, the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians, the New Mexico Optometric Association and other societies and private practices for the last thirteen years and was also the consulting editor for The Coding Institute’s Ophthalmology Coding Alert for ten years. Her areas of expertise include CPT-4 & ICD-9 Coding, Evaluation & Management Code Documentation Requirements, Medicare Billing Guidelines, Chart Documentation and Technician Training.
