Brenda Chidester CPC, CCS-P is currently the Coding Compliance Manager of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, in Houston, Texas. She coordinates and oversees the Coding Compliance Department in all aspects of auditing and training. Chidester has 17 years experience (10 years in single specialty physician and 7 years in large multi-specialty) in single and multi-specialty practices. She is experienced in all areas of coding and reimbursement including claim filing, denial review and appeal, payment posting and COB, and coding. Her area of expertise is coding. In addition, Chidester has coded from chart notes and operative reports for Oncology, Urology, Cardiology, Ob/Gyn and Ophthalmology and has audited E&M and operative notes from most all specialties. Chidester was a coding instructor for 7 years for San Jacinto Junior College teaching CPT and ICD-9 classes as well as a presenter for the AAPC local chapter in her area. Chidester teaches various coding classes at San Jacinto Junior College and is President of the Southeast Texas Chapter of Professional Coders. She is a former National Advisory Board Member for the American Academy of Professional Coders.
