Big news for CPT this year including the new restructuring scheme and changes to gyn urology procedures. To ensure that coders and billers never get bored, CPT, ICD9, and Medicare agree each year to change or revise the rules and codes. 2010 will be no different – Medicare is making a big change in how it will handle consultations, there will be relative value increases and decreases for many codes, a new conversion factor to deal with, but some good news for ob’gyns who perform the IPPE exam. CPT will tinker with codes this year, but if you miss out on the new restructuring instructions, you may miss out on reimbursement. Join coding expert, Melanie Witt for this 60-minute audio session where you can get prepped for the coding changes that will impact you in 2010. Plus: ICD-9 changes, new codes for hyperplasia and some history and infertility codes that may help get claims paid.
Here's what you will learn: - The good and the bad news: Medicare is no longer paying for consultations.
- Think you have urodynamic coding under control? Register today to learn what changes you are going to have to make in coding combinations for this testing.
- Unsure of what code to report when the physician documents “hyperplasia”? This session will set you straight on the newer language and how to correctly apply it in picking your ICD9 code.
- The OIG work plan is looking for a few good audits. Zoom in on what the government is planning in the way of claims scrutiny for FY 2010.
- Unpublished codes - What they are and how to keep up with changes throughout the year.
