Product Description
Take the guesswork out of the situation and be compliant with your documentation and claims submission.
Internal medicine physicians provide care for patients with a variety of illnesses. The type of care and procedures they administer to these patients can be complex and confusing in getting the billing and documentation done in a compliant manner.
If that wasn’t hard enough there are GREY areas in coding and billing that each office needs to take a position on. Where is your comfort zone for grey area decisions and how well will you survive an audit of that area?
Join Jill Young for this 1-hour audio conference where she will define situations where the rules are not black and white and discern where your decision making on the topic lies.
Take a look at what's covered:
- E&M code selection based on counseling and coordination of care time is fairly straight forward. What needs to be in the note for the care is a bit gray.
- Critical care guidelines are fairly extensive but do not cover all situations leaving some grey areas in this code set’s use
- Modifier 59 should only be used in certain circumstances but some situations made the decision on whether or not to use this highly audited modifier grey.
- Office services , when is it appropriate to use modifier 25 and when is it a shade of grey
- Medical necessity a nebulous term – how can you define it better in the documentation]
- We’ll leave lots of time for your tough grey area questions.
- supervision of tests, where can you find good information on who can provide supervision and who can bill for the test.
Ask a question at the Q&A session following the live event and get advice unique to your situation, directly from our expert speaker.
